Les persiennes are the most common shutters in Nice (French Riviera), letting only stripes of light pass. Those shutters are typical from Italy that I love so much and are part of the city because Nice once was Italian.
I wanted a name that really means something to me and as I grew up there and around in Provence, I thought of Maison Persienne as an ode to the South. Of course "Maison" is also about being a small structure, a Maison de Couture that ensures French savoir-faire and handcrafted work.
But to be honest, I was eventually sure of this name when I first said it out loud. Maison Persienne sounds just like Maison Parisienne and Paris is where I live today and where we make all the clothes we sell.
